Setups, Hermes profile

Morning digest

The X accounts you follow, read four times a day. The posts worth your time land in a dated note on your machine, and in Telegram if you add a bot.

Install

  1. Download and unzip the profile.
    curl -LO https://quotum.org/setup/morning-digest.zip unzip morning-digest.zip
  2. Install the quotum provider plugin and the profile into Hermes.
hermes plugins install qvotvm/hermes-quotum --enable hermes profile install ./morning-digest -y
  3. Add your keys. Fill in QUOTUM_SEAT_KEY and TWITTER_API_KEY.
    cp ~/.hermes/profiles/x-digest/.env.EXAMPLE ~/.hermes/profiles/x-digest/.env chmod 600 ~/.hermes/profiles/x-digest/.env
  4. Put in your accounts, one entry per handle.
    cp ./morning-digest/watchlist.json ~/.hermes/profiles/x-digest/watchlist.json
  5. Run it once by hand and read the note it writes in ~/notes/x-digest/.
    hermes -p x-digest -z "Run the X digest for the last 6 hours." -s x-research,memory-index
  6. Keep it on the schedule. The gateway fires the four runs a day.
    hermes -p x-digest gateway install

On your phone

Optional. With two values set, each run also goes to your Telegram. The note on disk is written either way, and the bot only posts.

  1. In Telegram, message @BotFather, send /newbot and pick a name. It replies with a token.
  2. Open a chat with your new bot and press Start. A bot cannot write to you first.
  3. Message @userinfobot. It replies with your numeric id, the chat id of your chat with the bot.
  4. Set TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN and TELEGRAM_HOME_CHANNEL in the profile's .env, then restart the gateway.
    hermes -p x-digest gateway install
  5. If a run logs python-telegram-bot not installed, add it to Hermes once.
    ~/.hermes/hermes-agent/venv/bin/python -m pip install "python-telegram-bot[webhooks]==22.6"

What runs

06:00A digest of the hours since the last run
12:00The same
16:00The same
19:55Notes for the day, before the bell

Times in UTC. Each run reads your list once through twitterapi.io, picks three to six posts on deepseek-v4-pro and appends one section to the note.

The files

Where it connects

The setup's own calls go to api.venice.ai for the model, quotum.org for the seat's meter and api.twitterapi.io for the reads, and to api.telegram.org only if you turn Telegram on. The meter call carries a short hash of the key, never the key itself or a prompt. We have not audited Hermes itself. Run it behind your own firewall to be sure.

Venice keeps no prompt or reply on the models it lists as private. That is their retention policy, not a proof, and tool calls leave your box as they would anywhere.
